Traditional Wedding Cake Inspiration

Every traditional wedding deserves an exquisite traditional wedding cake to match the ceremony and the vibe. A wedding is a huge celebration in our culture, and it’s always a joyous celebration when the process of lobola gets done and join the two families together.

A huge part of the ceremony aside from the wedding attire is food. We love food, and part of the food is the cake, because what’s a traditional wedding without cake?

Now . . . there are different wedding cakes that you can get for your wedding, and that will depend on your requirements and the cake designer and baker that you use. Depend on your preference . . . and just how big or lavish you want your cake to be, there is a cake designer who can bring your vision to life. After all, it’s your wedding day, one of the most important days of your life, therefore it needs to be amazing, because that’s what you deserve.

In South Africa, we have beautiful cultures and traditions, which will make the cake designs interesting as well. There are Tswana traditional wedding cakes, Zulu traditional wedding cakes, Pedi traditional wedding cakes, Tsonga traditional wedding cakes, Xhosa traditional wedding cakes, Sotho traditional wedding cakes, Swazi traditional wedding cakes and Venda traditional wedding cakes, and the designs are just as different and similar as our cultures.

As the one getting married, make sure you communicate exacty what it is that you want for your cake. Whether it’s a round cake, a square cake or a cake that has another shape . . . it’s all up to you. And you also can have the flavour that you want, whether vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, carrot, candy floss, fruit cake or whatever flavour you want.
