Rego and Dise Say I Do

Rego and Dise Say I Do in a Beautiful Traditional Wedding

Hey fam. . . meet Rego and Dise, a beautiful couple that we featured on Mzansi Weddings recently. We got interested in their love story and how they met, and we got them to tell us a bit about their journey together. Read about it below:

How did you guys meet? And what was your first impression of each other?

We met in High School, some 11 years ago.

Rego – Dise was 2 grades ahead of me. He was the Head Boy of his year. He was very much involved in sports so there was no way one couldn’t notice him. My first impression was that he was cute but I had no intention on dating him.
Dise – We met back in high school when Rego attended my sports events and so happened to be a first aider. She would be the first one to come to my aid whenever I got injured. We also sang in the school choir together so I always had an eye for her. My first impression was that she is very beautiful!

How long have you been together? What makes you guys work?

We’ve been dating since the 1st of October 2011, therefore we’ve been together for 7 years and 7 months to date. God makes us work. Every decision we make involves Him through prayer as a couple. The revelation and presence of God in our lives keeps us in check.

How did you know she was the one/he was the one?

Rego – I prayed for a Godly man who would lead me and help me grow spiritually and God answered my prayers. This was evident in the manner in which he treated me. A man who loves God will be easily guided on how to treat a woman and it showed through his words and actions.

Dise – In 2011 I was single and realised that I needed to a godly woman in my life. I often prayed and asked God to lead me to such a woman who is not just beautiful on the outside but is totally sold out for Jesus. After rekindling our friendship in 2011 – post high school – and engaging in conversations about life and Christianity, I knew that she was the one for me. Her desire to know God and to grow in her faith is what sealed the deal for me. She met all my requirements.

What do you love most about your partner?

Rego – His drive for life. He reminds me that life is meant to be lived.

Dise – Her sincere heart and genuine love for people.

What are you most looking forward to in this life journey together?

Rego – Exploring the world and spreading the love of Jesus Christ together as a couple and just living every moment together with our future children.

Dise – I look forward to raising our children together and offering them better opportunities that we didn’t get. Furthermore, I look forward to traveling the world with my family and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It’s early days in your marriage, but what’s the one piece of advice have you learned about relationships, love and commitment?

Rego – You choose to love your partner. It’s not an obligation. When you choose to love them, you desire to love them better each passing day.

Dise – Unless God is the foundation of your relationship, then the two of you are building your relationship on shaky ground. Storms of life, lust and unfaithfulness are prone to cause major problems.
